Hooghly riverbank
The river forms the whole eastern edge of the town, a broad band on the poster. Ghats and mill sites mark the places where streets meet the water.

Bhadreswar Map Poster & Print
Bhadreswar is one of the chain of old towns along the west bank of the Hooghly River north of Kolkata, in Hooghly district. From above it forms a narrow ribbon: the river on one side, the main railway line from Howrah on the other, and the Grand Trunk Road running between them. Lanes run down to the bank at short intervals, and the neighbouring towns merge into it almost without a break.
Like its neighbours Chandannagar and Champdani, Bhadreswar grew with the jute industry, and riverside mill compounds still occupy large plots along the bank. The town shares the region's devotion to Jagaddhatri Puja, when neighbourhoods are lit up for the autumn festival. Its ghats tie it to the long tradition of life along the Hooghly.
A Bhadreswar map poster captures this linear form well. The wide band of the river, the dense lanes and the straight parallel lines of road and rail make an unusual composition that is easy to read. In monochrome the town becomes a precise study of how Bengal's river settlements were built, one strip of land at a time.

Road and rail
The Grand Trunk Road and the Howrah main line run roughly parallel to the river. They give the map strong linear strokes that hold the dense streets between them.
Continuous riverside towns
Bhadreswar's boundaries blur into its neighbours Chandannagar and Champdani on either side, so the map shows a continuous urban strip rather than an isolated town.

Bakit Bhadreswar
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Anyone who grew up in the Hooghly towns knows the shape of Bhadreswar at a glance: the river, the rail line, the lanes between. A map poster keeps that geography on the wall, with your own title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a home, a family or a date.
