Square block grid
The centre is laid out as a regular chequerboard of blocks. In black and white it has a calm, almost textile rhythm.

Ang mapa
Cañada de Gómez Map Poster & Print
Cañada de Gómez lies in the south of Santa Fe province, in the flat, fertile country of the Argentine pampas. Like many towns in the region it grew beside the railway, and the map still shows that. The streets form a regular grid of square blocks, with plazas set into the pattern and the rail line running through at an angle.
National Route 9, the main road between Rosario and Córdoba, passes the town, so the plan has two long transport lines crossing an otherwise even field of blocks. Beyond the last streets the land opens into large rectangular farm plots, a geometry that repeats the grid of the town at a much bigger scale.
A Cañada de Gómez map poster draws out that quiet order. Nothing on the ground rises very far, so the character is all in the plan, in the evenness of the blocks, the pauses where the plazas sit, and the straight transport lines heading toward the two big cities at either end of the road.

Rail and Route 9
The railway and the Rosario–Córdoba highway cut long straight lines past the town. They give the composition direction and show why the town grew where it did.
Open pampas edge
Past the last streets the map gives way to broad field boundaries, so the town's neat rectangle sits in open, level countryside.
