Ang mapa
Cauterets Map Poster & Print
Cauterets fills a narrow stretch of valley in the Hautes-Pyrénées, where the Gave de Cauterets runs between steep slopes. From above the town is compact and dense, its streets packed onto the valley floor and along the river, with mountains rising close on all sides. South of town, the road continues up the valley toward the Pont d'Espagne.
The town grew as a thermal spa, and grand hotels and baths from the nineteenth century still line its streets. It is a gateway to the Pyrenees National Park. Trails lead to the Lac de Gaube below the north face of the Vignemale, and a gondola climbs to the Cirque du Lys ski area above town.
A Cauterets map poster shows how tightly a mountain town can be built. The streets are short and dense, the river runs straight through the middle, and the valley opens into a large commune of lakes, forests and peaks stretching toward the Spanish border. Few towns have so much wild ground so close to their centre.

Pont d'Espagne
Upstream, the valley road ends at the Pont d'Espagne, where waterfalls meet and trails lead into the national park. It makes a clear endpoint on the map.
Lac de Gaube
This mountain lake lies beneath the Vignemale and is reached on foot from the Pont d'Espagne. On the map it is a crisp shape of water in the high ground.

Bakit Cauterets
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Cauterets suits walkers, skiers and people who came to take the waters here as children. A map of the town and its valley captures a place where the Belle Époque architecture of the spa meets the wilder country of the high Pyrenees.
Add a title, a subtitle and the coordinates, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files in six sizes cost $9. Printed posters on matte paper are available with an optional wooden frame.
