Village lanes
Narrow roads wind between homesteads and fields. They create a dense, irregular pattern that covers the map without forming any clear grid.

Ang mapa
Chōrōd Map Poster & Print
Chōrōd is in Kozhikode district on the Malabar coast of northern Kerala, near the town of Vadakara. The land here is low and green, lying between the Arabian Sea and the rising midlands. On the map, the lanes do not form a grid. Instead, they wind between homestead plots, paddy fields and waterways.
The main coastal highway and the railway run north to south through this part of Kerala, cutting straight lines through the more organic local network. Houses are spread out across the landscape rather than packed into blocks, a typical Kerala settlement pattern that looks almost like woven fabric from above.
A Chōrōd map poster shows the fine detail of village Kerala: lanes bending around ponds and gardens, the straight lines of road and rail, and water nearby. It is an unusual map for a poster, full of small detail and without a single dominant centre.

Bakit Chōrōd
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Many Malabar families have lived and worked in the Gulf for generations, and home is often a specific village, not just a district. A map poster of Chōrōd captures that level of detail, down to the lane leading to the family house.
Add a family name or house name as the title, a date as the subtitle, and set exact coordinates. Choose from Classic, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes six sizes, and prints are shipped from partners in over 30 countries.
