The main line runs straight through the town, forming a strong axis that divides the street network and shaped Chudovo's development.

Ang mapa
Chudovo Map Poster & Print
Chudovo is a town in Novgorod Oblast in north-western Russia, situated on the Kerest River in a flat, heavily forested landscape. It lies on the main railway between Moscow and St Petersburg, and on the highway following the same route, which has shaped both its growth and its map.
The poet Nikolai Nekrasov had a house here, which he used during hunting trips, and it is now a museum. On a map, the town's streets are organised along the railway and the main road, with residential districts on both sides. The river winds through the town, and beyond the edges, forest and marshland spread in almost every direction.
A Chudovo map poster shows a town stretched along its transport lines, with the curving river as a natural counterpoint. The surrounding forest leaves wide open areas around the streets, so the settlement appears as a distinct, compact form within the landscape of the north-west.

Kerest River
The river winds through the town, adding soft curves to a map otherwise organised by straight transport lines.
Forest surroundings
Beyond the town, forest and marshland leave broad open spaces with few roads, so the settlement stands out clearly on the poster.
