Ang mapa
Deesa Map Poster & Print
Deesa lies in Banaskantha district in northern Gujarat, on the bank of the Banas river. For much of the year the river is a broad, sandy channel rather than a full stream, and on a map it appears as a wide pale band beside the town, crossed by road and rail bridges. The land around is flat and open, divided into farm plots.
The town grew as a trading and agricultural centre, and under British rule it was also the site of a military cantonment, whose more regular layout differs from the denser, older streets of the market area. Roads fan out toward Palanpur, Radhanpur and the Rajasthan border, making Deesa a junction for much of the surrounding region.
Deesa is best known today as one of India's leading potato-growing areas, and cold storage warehouses are a familiar sight around the town. A Deesa map poster records a place defined by its river and its farmland: a compact town, a sandy watercourse and long straight tracks running out between the fields.

Old market streets
The commercial core has a close, irregular street pattern where lanes meet around markets, the densest part of the map and the historic heart of the town.
Farm road grid
Beyond the town, straight tracks divide the flat land into fields, many of them planted with potatoes, giving the outer map a quiet, repeating texture.
