The harbour
The bay is one of the largest shapes on the map. The narrow entrance channel runs between the Point and the Bluff, and industrial quays trace its inner shoreline.

Ang mapa
Durban Map Poster & Print
Durban is organised around its harbour, a large natural bay almost enclosed by the Bluff, a forested headland on the south side of the entrance, and by the Point on the north side. From above, the water forms a broad, calm shape at the heart of the map. Docks, container terminals and rail sidings line its inner shores.
North of the harbour mouth, the city centre meets the Indian Ocean along the Golden Mile, a long, straight run of beaches, promenade and hotels. Behind it the ground rises to the Berea, a ridge of older suburbs and winding roads. Further north, the Umgeni River reaches the sea near Moses Mabhida Stadium, built for the 2010 World Cup.
Durban's port is the busiest in South Africa. The city also has one of the largest communities of Indian descent outside India, which shows in its markets and in dishes such as bunny chow, a hollowed-out loaf filled with curry. A Durban map poster brings together coast, harbour and ridge, three very different edges in a single frame.

Golden Mile
The beachfront runs north from the harbour entrance in a clean, almost straight line. The promenade and parallel roads give the coastline a sharp, graphic edge.
Berea ridge
Inland from the centre, the Berea rises in curving streets that follow the contours. The pattern is softer and looser than the grid of the city centre below.

Bakit Durban
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Durban is a city of holidays, homecomings and long family histories. Its map suits anyone who learned to swim off its beaches, grew up on the Berea or left through its port, and it gives the ocean a real presence on the wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a surname or the year you arrived, and keep the coordinates for accuracy. Of the five styles, Blueprint makes the harbour especially striking and Sand is warmer. Printed posters on matte paper ship from partners in 30+ countries.
