Frauenfeld is the capital of the canton of Thurgau in north-eastern Switzerland, set on the small Murg river just before it reaches the Thur. From above, the compact old town sits on a low rise above the Murg, with Schloss Frauenfeld, its medieval castle, marking the corner.
