Ang mapa
Gemena Map Poster & Print
Gemena is the capital of Sud-Ubangi province in the northwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The land around it is low and fairly flat, part of the broad Congo Basin where forest and cleared farmland meet. On a map the town appears as a loose network of streets with no dense core, fading gradually into the surrounding country.
Main roads run out of town toward other settlements in the province, and they shape the map more than any river or coastline does. Between them, residential areas form an irregular pattern of blocks and paths, many of them unpaved. An airstrip on the edge of town gives the map one of its few long, straight lines.
A Gemena map poster is a quiet, abstract image: thin lines spread across a wide field, with the town's administrative role showing mainly in the way roads meet near its centre. For people from the region, it offers a way to keep the shape of home close.

Airstrip
The town's runway is a single straight stroke. It stands out sharply against the softer, irregular street pattern around it.
Open street pattern
Blocks are wide and irregular, with plenty of space between the lines. This makes a light, airy composition that suits minimal interiors.

Bakit Gemena
Isang mapang may kahulugan
The map is for people from Gemena and Sud-Ubangi living elsewhere, and for those who have worked in the province and want to remember it. It shows the town simply and respectfully, as lines on a page.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a year or a message. Then pick one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
