Ang mapa
Gniezno Map Poster & Print
Gniezno lies in Greater Poland, east of Poznań, in a landscape of low hills and glacial lakes. From above the historic centre is compact and clearly defined: a market square with streets leading outward and, close beside it, Lech Hill, crowned by the cathedral. Around this core the city spreads in newer districts, with lakes breaking up the pattern on several sides.
According to legend, Gniezno was founded by Lech, who saw a white eagle nesting here and adopted it as his emblem, the origin of Poland's coat of arms. More firmly, the city was a main seat of the early Piast rulers, the site of the Congress of Gniezno in the year 1000 and the place where Poland's first kings were crowned.
The cathedral, seat of the Primate of Poland, holds the bronze Gniezno Doors, cast with scenes from the life of Saint Adalbert. A Gniezno map poster shows the city's early core on its hill, the curving lakeshores that frame it and the rail lines and roads that connect it to Poznań and the rest of the country.

Lake Jelonek
A small lake lies right next to the old town, its shoreline and park forming an open area close to the cathedral, an unusual sight at the heart of a city.
Market square
The central square sits where the old streets meet, its rectangular outline and surrounding blocks forming the densest part of the map.

Bakit Gniezno
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Gniezno carries a particular meaning for Poles as the place where the state began, and for many it is simply home. A map of the city puts the cathedral hill, the lakes and the old market square into one quiet image.
You can add a custom title, subtitle and coordinates line, and select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand bring out the historic character of the old town. Buy HD files for $9 or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
