Great Malvern climbs the eastern face of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire, a narrow ridge that rises abruptly from the Severn plain. The town became famous in the nineteenth century for its water cure, when visitors came to drink and bathe in the pure spring water that still flows from the hills.
