Ang mapa
Guanajuato Map Poster & Print
Guanajuato lies in a narrow, twisting ravine in the mountains of central Mexico. Its map looks completely different from the gridded cities of the Mexican plateau. Streets follow the valley floor in long curves, and small callejones, often little more than stairways, branch up the steep slopes on both sides in an intricate, irregular web.
The city grew rich from nearby silver mines, and its historic centre and adjacent mines are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Traffic runs largely through underground tunnels, some following the former riverbed. The Alhóndiga de Granaditas, Teatro Juárez and the hilltop Pípila monument are among its landmarks, and it hosts the Festival Internacional Cervantino each year.
A Guanajuato map poster shows one of the most expressive urban plans in the Americas. Main roads twist through the ravine, lanes cling to contours, and the dense centre shows almost no straight lines. The absence of a grid is exactly what makes the city so recognisable from above, especially in the fine linework of a black-and-white print.

Underground roads
Tunnels beneath the centre carry much of the traffic, some along the old course of the river, keeping the historic streets largely pedestrian.
Ravine plan
The whole city follows the shape of a narrow valley, so its main streets curve with the land instead of forming a grid.

Bakit Guanajuato
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Guanajuato leaves an impression on everyone who has walked its alleys, studied there or come for the Cervantino. The poster turns that memory into a detailed, graphic print for a living room or study.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps for a trip, a proposal or a festival year. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
