Trans-Siberian Railway
The main line and its sidings cross the town in a broad band. On the poster this is the strongest element, dividing the streets into two halves.

Ang mapa
Ilanskiy Map Poster & Print
Ilanskiy is a town in the eastern part of Krasnoyarsk Krai, in southern Siberia. It grew up around a station on the Trans-Siberian Railway, and the railway is still the dominant feature on the map. The tracks, sidings and depot areas run through the town in a wide band, and the residential streets are laid out in straight rows on either side.
The town lies on a small river, whose meandering course contrasts with the rigid lines of the railway. Around the town, forest and open fields alternate, typical of the southern Siberian taiga edge. Most of the houses are low, set on regular plots, which gives the outer districts a fine, even texture.
A Ilanskiy map poster shows a classic railway town from above. The heavy band of track, the orderly grid of streets and the soft curve of the river make a clear, strongly structured image, especially effective in the Blueprint and Noir styles.

Straight street grid
Residential streets run in parallel lines laid out alongside the railway. Their regularity gives the town a planned, orderly appearance typical of Siberian station towns.
Meandering river
A small river winds past the town through low ground. Its looping course provides the only curved lines in an otherwise geometric composition.
