Ang mapa
Isla Vista Map Poster & Print
Isla Vista is a small, very dense community on the coast west of Santa Barbara, right next to the University of California, Santa Barbara. Most residents are students. From above, it is an almost perfect rectangle of short streets and small blocks, packed onto a flat bluff that ends suddenly at cliffs above the Pacific.
Del Playa Drive runs along the cliff edge, with houses backing directly onto the drop to the beach. On the map, this is the southern boundary, a line of rooftops and then open ocean. To the east, the UCSB campus spreads out with its lagoon, walkways and larger building footprints.
Bike paths criss-cross the area, and bicycles outnumber cars on many streets. An Isla Vista map poster captures a place that people often live in for just a few years but remember for a long time: a compact grid, a cliff-edge street and a campus opening onto the sea.

Dense student grid
Short blocks and closely spaced streets fill a small, near-rectangular area. It is one of the most compact street patterns on the California coast.
Campus and lagoon
UCSB's campus lies next door, with its lagoon and open lawns forming large, calm shapes beside Isla Vista's tight blocks.
