Virunga foothills
The land rises to the south towards the volcanoes of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Roads bend around the slopes and follow the terrain instead of a grid.

Ang mapa
Kisoro Map Poster & Print
Kisoro is in the south-western corner of Uganda, close to the borders with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. From above, the town sits on high, rolling ground. Its streets climb and curve with the land, and all around them tightly worked fields and terraces cover the hills in a fine pattern.
To the south rise the Virunga volcanoes, including Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabinyo, which are protected within Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The town is a common starting point for trips into the park and to Lake Mutanda, whose irregular shoreline lies a short distance to the north. On a map, the town is framed by mountain slopes on one side and water on the other.
A Kisoro map poster centres on the town, but its setting defines the image. The winding roads, dense farmland and routes heading towards the borders and the park show a place shaped by some of the most dramatic terrain in East Africa.

Terraced farmland
Small, intensively farmed plots cover the hills around the town. Their field boundaries create a finely detailed texture across the map.
Border roads
Main roads lead out towards Rwanda and the DRC. They give the town the character of a crossing point where several routes meet.

Bakit Kisoro
Isang mapang may kahulugan
The poster appeals to people from Kisoro and to visitors who came for the gorillas, the volcanoes or Lake Mutanda and want a lasting reminder of the trip. A precise map shows the place more honestly than a photograph can.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised, for example with the date of a trek. Choose from five styles, including the soft Paper and Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, and HD files cost $9.
