Valley floor
The town stretches along the bottom of a valley. Its buildings and streets form a long band instead of a round centre.

Ang mapa
Lichuan Zhen Map Poster & Print
Lichuan Zhen is a town in Gansu province, in the hilly south of the province, where the land rises toward the high ground between the Loess Plateau and the mountains beyond. On a map, the town is defined by its valley. Buildings and roads fill the flat floor, and the slopes on either side stay largely open.
In landscapes like this, settlement follows the watercourse. The main road usually runs parallel to the river, and smaller lanes climb only a short way before the ground gets too steep. Outside the centre, terraced fields and scattered villages cling to the lower hillsides.
A Lichuan Zhen map poster makes that linear shape its subject. The long, narrow built-up area contrasts with the empty space of the hills, and the river gives the composition a clear direction across the paper.

River course
A river follows the valley and guides the main road. It is the steady line that everything else on the map aligns with.
Hillside space
Steep slopes on both sides carry few roads. They leave wide, quiet areas on the print that frame the settlement and make it easy to read.
