The river winds through the town and across the valley floor, a curving line that shapes the layout of streets and neighbourhoods on each bank.

Ang mapa
Loikaw Map Poster & Print
Loikaw is the capital of Kayah State, Myanmar's smallest state, in the hills of the east near the Thai border. From above, the town lies in a broad valley surrounded by uplands, with the river running through it and roads fanning out towards the hills and neighbouring towns.
The streets form a loose grid on the valley floor, with markets, religious buildings and residential areas. Loikaw is known for the Taung Kwe Pagoda, set on jagged limestone outcrops above the town, from which the whole valley can be seen. Nearby rice fields and villages fill the valley around it.
A Loikaw map poster shows the town in its setting: the river, the streets and the hills closing in around the valley. It's a meaningful piece for people from Kayah State, many of whom now live far from home.

Taung Kwe Pagoda
The pagoda stands on sharp limestone outcrops rising from the edge of the town, a landmark visible across the valley and a clear feature on the map.
Valley setting
Hills enclose the valley on several sides, so the town and its farmland form a compact, well-defined area surrounded by upland terrain.

Bakit Loikaw
Isang mapang may kahulugan
For the Kayah community at home and abroad, Loikaw is more than a point on the map. A poster of the town keeps its streets, river and hills present in a home far away, calmly and without ornament.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, with a name or a date that matters. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for six print sizes, or order a printed poster from a print partner near you.
