James River edge
The river bends past the foot of downtown, with islands and rail lines along its banks. It forms a strong curved border along the northern side of the map.

Ang mapa
Lynchburg Map Poster & Print
Lynchburg rises from the south bank of the James River in central Virginia, with the Blue Ridge Mountains on the western horizon. The town began at a ferry crossing run by John Lynch in the eighteenth century and grew as a tobacco market. Its downtown still sits on steep slopes directly above the water.
On a map the old grid near the river runs straight up the hillside, and the streets further out loosen and curve over ridges and around creek valleys. The nickname City of Seven Hills fits what you see from above: the neighbourhoods sit on distinct high points, each with its own cluster of streets, with wooded hollows between them.
Several institutions add large open shapes to the plan, including Liberty University, the University of Lynchburg and Randolph College, each with its own campus of lawns and buildings. A Lynchburg map poster combines the river, the tight historic centre and the winding hills, a layout that looks quite different from the flatter cities of the Virginia coast.

Hillside downtown grid
Streets climb steeply up from the riverfront in a compact grid, and on the map they run in straight, dense rows against the curving roads further out.
Campus open spaces
Several university and college campuses leave distinctive open areas with internal paths and sports fields that interrupt the residential street pattern.

Bakit Lynchburg
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Lynchburg is a city of graduates, returning students and long-settled families, and many people carry a specific hill or campus in memory. A map of its winding streets makes a considered graduation gift or a reminder of where a household started.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a class year, a campus or a home address. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper and Sand both suit the city's older brick neighbourhoods well.
