Linear settlement
Houses and streets line the main routes, so the built area stretches in narrow bands instead of gathering into a dense central grid.

Ang mapa
Manismata Map Poster & Print
Manismata is a district settlement in Ketapang Regency, in the interior of West Kalimantan on the island of Borneo. The landscape around it is low and green, crossed by rivers and streams, with forest, plantations and scattered villages spread across a wide area. From above, the settlement is small and linear, following roads and watercourses rather than forming a compact grid.
Much of Ketapang's interior is shaped by rivers, which were historically the main routes between settlements, and by the expansion of plantation agriculture in recent decades. On a map, this shows as long roads cutting through large areas of green, with clusters of houses where routes meet or cross water.
A Manismata map poster keeps to what the map actually shows: a slender pattern of streets, the curves of local rivers and a great deal of open land. The result is a sparse, elegant print that emphasises distance and scale, suited to anyone with a connection to this part of Borneo.

Rivers and streams
Winding watercourses cross the lowland around the settlement, adding soft, irregular lines that contrast with the straighter roads.
Open interior
Large stretches of forest and plantation surround the settlement, leaving much of the frame open and giving the poster a quiet, spacious feel.
