Masis sits on the Ararat plain in Armenia, a short distance south of Yerevan. The town takes its name from Masis, the Armenian name for Mount Ararat, which rises across the border and dominates the view on clear days. The mountain lies outside the map's frame, but the plain it overlooks shapes everything within it.
The ground here is flat and intensively farmed, crossed by irrigation channels and long, straight roads. Masis is also an important rail junction.
