Banabuiú River
The river passes close to the town and is the main natural line on the map. It explains why the settlement and its farmland are where they are.

Ang mapa
Morada Nova Map Poster & Print
Morada Nova lies in the Jaguaribe valley region of Ceará, where the Banabuiú River crosses semi-arid country on its way toward the Jaguaribe. The town itself is a fairly regular grid of blocks with a central core. Around it, the streets thin out quickly into rural roads, and the land is flat and wide.
Water is the key to the map here. Irrigation works along the river have shaped the surrounding farmland, and from above the geometry of canals and plots contrasts with the looser outline of the town. The name is also known to livestock breeders: the Morada Nova breed of hair sheep, adapted to the hot northeast, is named after it.
A Morada Nova map poster reduces all of this to line and space. The grid sits at the centre, the river runs along one side and roads head out into the sertão. It is a spare, honest picture of a town that grew around water in a dry landscape.

Regular town grid
The centre is laid out in a mostly orthogonal pattern of blocks. In monochrome print it reads as a neat, even texture.
Roads into the sertão
Straight rural roads leave the town in several directions. They stretch across open country and give the map long lines toward its edges.

Bakit Morada Nova
Isang mapang may kahulugan
For someone from the interior of Ceará, a map of home says a lot without any words. It shows the grid where they grew up, the river that made farming possible and the roads that led away and back again.
You can change the title and subtitle, or add a date that matters, and adjust the coordinates line. Then pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
