El Toro peak
The rounded hill on the western edge of town is the local landmark, and it shows on the map as a sudden gap in the street pattern.

Ang mapa
Morgan Hill Map Poster & Print
Morgan Hill lies in the southern part of Santa Clara County, where the valley narrows between two ranges of hills. From above, the town stretches along a north–south axis, following the old Monterey Road and the US 101 freeway, with neighbourhoods filling the flat ground between them.
The town’s most recognisable landmark is El Toro, a steep, rounded peak that rises right at its western edge. On a Morgan Hill map poster, the hills close in on both sides, and the blank space of their slopes gives the grid a clear frame.
East of the town, Anderson Lake reservoir fills a long, narrow valley in the foothills, adding a strong organic shape to the composition. Morgan Hill takes its name from Hiram Morgan Hill, who married into a local landowning family in the nineteenth century, and the town grew as a quiet agricultural centre before the Bay Area spread south.

Monterey Road axis
The old main road and the 101 freeway run side by side through the valley, setting the long north–south line of the whole town.
Anderson Lake
The reservoir stretches through the foothills east of town, a long, irregular body of water that balances the grid on the valley floor.
