Rectangular grid
The town centre is a regular chequerboard of blocks, with streets meeting at right angles. This clear, orderly pattern sits at the heart of the map.

Ang mapa
Morro Agudo Map Poster & Print
Morro Agudo lies in the north of São Paulo state, in gently rolling country given over largely to sugarcane. From above, the town is a tidy grid of rectangular blocks, laid out like many towns in the interior of São Paulo. Long roads lead away from it across the farmland in several directions toward the neighbouring towns.
The name means pointed hill in Portuguese, although the land around it rolls gently rather than rising steeply. Sugarcane and ethanol dominate the economy. On the map, the fields around town form huge blocks divided by straight farm roads, a scale of farming quite different from the fine grain of the town's own streets.
A Morro Agudo map poster sets a compact, orderly town against one of Brazil's most intensively farmed landscapes. In black and white, the fine grid of the centre and the broad geometric fields around it give the composition two distinct scales. Small streams and patches of woodland add a few curved lines.

Cane field blocks
Around town, vast sugarcane fields are divided by straight farm roads into large geometric plots. They give the landscape a bold, graphic structure.
Streams and woodland
Narrow strips of trees along small streams wind between the fields. They add soft, irregular lines to a surrounding landscape that is otherwise highly geometric.
