Muar River
The broad river curves past the town toward the Strait of Malacca. It divides the two banks and gives the map a strong, flowing line.

Ang mapa
Muar Map Poster & Print
Muar stands on the southern bank of the Muar River, close to where it flows into the Strait of Malacca on the west coast of Johor. From above, the river is the main feature, a wide ribbon curving toward the sea. The older town centre lies along its bank in a compact grid of shophouse streets, and newer districts spread out behind it.
The town's official name is Bandar Maharani Bandar Diraja, the Royal Town, and it holds a historic place in the history of the Johor sultanate. Along the riverside, the Tanjung Emas park and a promenade lead toward the estuary. A Muar map poster shows this riverside setting with the town's grid laid alongside the water.
Muar is widely known in Malaysia for its food, from otak-otak to mee bandung. It also keeps its old colonial buildings and shophouses. Bridges across the river link the town to the northern bank, and the estuary opens toward the busy shipping lanes of the strait.

Shophouse grid
The historic centre follows a regular pattern of shophouse streets set parallel to the river, a clear and orderly block near the water.
River bridges
Road bridges span the river and connect the town centre to the northern bank. They are strong horizontal marks across the water.

Bakit Muar
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Many people from Muar live and work in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or further afield, and a map of the riverfront town brings back a strong sense of home. It suits a hallway, a kitchen or a gift for parents.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or a year, and set the coordinates to a house or a shop. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper suits the older shophouse streets.
