Ganges barrage
A barrage crosses the wide river, and a road runs across its top. It is the one firm straight line across the otherwise shifting, braided channel.

Ang mapa
Naraura Map Poster & Print
Naraura lies on the banks of the Ganges in Bulandshahr district, in western Uttar Pradesh. The river dominates its map: a wide, braided channel with sandbanks and shifting side streams. A barrage carries a road across it, and at the barrage the headworks of the Lower Ganga Canal send a large, straight channel off across the plain.
Naraura is best known for the Narora Atomic Power Station, one of India's nuclear power plants, which stands close to the river. Its planned township, with regular streets and residential blocks, contrasts with the older, denser layout of the town. Beyond them the flat Gangetic plain stretches away in fields crossed by canals.
A Naraura map poster brings together the natural and the engineered. There's the loose curve of the Ganges, the firm line of the barrage, the ruler-straight canal and the neat grid of the township. In Blueprint these features read almost like an engineering plan, which suits a town built around water and power.

Lower Ganga Canal
The canal leaves the river at the barrage and heads straight across the plain. It is one of the strongest single lines on the whole map.
Power station township
The planned township next to the nuclear plant has regular streets and blocks. It makes a tidy grid next to the older, more organic town.
