Ang mapa
Northfield Map Poster & Print
Northfield grew up where the Cannon River runs through southern Minnesota farm country. On a map, the river is the first thing you see, crossing the town and dividing the historic downtown from the neighbourhoods beyond. The older blocks follow a regular grid near the water. Farther out, the streets loosen into curving residential roads and then into open fields.
The town is known for two liberal arts colleges. Carleton College is on the north-east side, with an arboretum stretching along the river. St. Olaf College sits on a hill to the west. Northfield is also remembered for 1876, when townspeople stopped the Jesse James and Younger gang's raid on the First National Bank. The event is still marked in town every year.
A Northfield map poster brings the three parts of the town together: the river and bridges at the centre, the grid of the old downtown and the two campuses with their quads, paths and open lawns on either side. Around them, the square pattern of Minnesota farm roads frames the composition, so the town reads as a clear island in the countryside.

Two campuses
Carleton and St. Olaf sit on opposite sides of town. Their buildings, quads and footpaths appear as open, irregular areas within the street pattern.
Carleton Arboretum
A large belt of woods and prairie follows the river beyond the Carleton campus and gives the map a broad natural area with few roads.

Bakit Northfield
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Northfield posters often go to alumni of Carleton or St. Olaf, and to people who grew up in town. The map places a campus, a first apartment or a riverside walk in one clear frame.
Put a class year, a graduation date or a street address in the title, subtitle and coordinates line. Then choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 digital download includes six sizes, from A3 up to 24×36″.
