Purus meanders
The river curves back and forth in wide loops. In black and white the bends become bold, elegant lines that dominate the entire composition.

Ang mapa
Pauini Map Poster & Print
Pauini sits in the southwest of Amazonas state, on the Purus River, one of the major tributaries of the Amazon. The town is reached mainly by river and air, and the map reflects that. There is a compact grid of streets on the bank, and almost everything around it is water or forest.
The Purus winds in wide, looping meanders, leaving oxbow lakes and old channels behind as its course shifts. From above, these curves and crescents are the main design, and the town is a small, orderly patch placed along the outside of one bend.
A Pauini map poster is mostly river. The meanders sweep across the sheet and the lakes fill the gaps, and the regular street grid of the town gives a sense of scale to an otherwise vast landscape.

Oxbow lakes
Crescent-shaped lakes, left behind as the river changed course, sit near the main channel. They add a pattern of curved shapes around the town.
Riverside grid
The town is laid out in a small grid on the bank. Its straight lines stand out sharply against the organic curves of the river and forest.

Bakit Pauini
Isang mapang may kahulugan
For people from the Purus region, and for those who worked or travelled on the river, Pauini is a place that is hard to reach and easy to remember. The map shows how closely the town lives with the water.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are editable, so you can mark a year or a journey. The poster comes in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
