Planned town blocks
Residential areas were designed as a whole, and their regular apartment blocks and wide streets form a clean, geometric core within the surrounding forest.

Ang mapa
Polyarnyye Zori Map Poster & Print
Polyarnyye Zori lies in the south of Russia's Murmansk Oblast, on the Kola Peninsula above the Arctic Circle. It was founded in the late 1960s alongside the Kola Nuclear Power Plant, which still defines the town. On a map it appears as a compact block of planned streets surrounded by forest, lakes and marsh.
The town sits near the Niva River, which drains Lake Imandra, one of the largest lakes on the peninsula. Its name, meaning Polar Dawns, refers to the northern lights. As a Soviet-era planned settlement, its layout is orderly: residential blocks, broad streets and clearly separated districts.
A Polyarnyye Zori map poster shows a neat urban plan set in wild northern terrain. Regular blocks and streets sit in one tight area, while lakes and waterways spread irregularly around them. That meeting of planned geometry and open landscape gives this small Arctic town a surprisingly strong graphic presence.

Bakit Polyarnyye Zori
Isang mapang may kahulugan
For people who grew up in Polyarnyye Zori or worked at the power plant, the map holds the courtyards, the lakes and long northern winters. It makes a thoughtful gift for family members who have moved south.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps to add a year of arrival or a family name. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir fits the polar night especially well.
