Yatsushiro Sea edge
The shoreline is the defining line of the map. It separates the calm inland sea from a thin strip of homes, roads and harbour structures.

Ang mapa
Sashiki Map Poster & Print
Sashiki sits on the western coast of Kumamoto Prefecture, where the land drops to the Yatsushiro Sea. From above, the settled area is a narrow band. Houses, roads and a rail line follow the shore, and green hills rise almost immediately behind them. The sea takes up one edge of the map and the forested slopes take up the other.
The town merged into Ashikita in 2005, so the name now refers to a district of a larger municipality. The street pattern is modest and practical. A few main roads run parallel to the coast, and shorter lanes climb into the valleys that cut into the hills. Small streams come down those valleys and reach the sea through the lower town.
A Sashiki map poster shows a sparse, quiet layout. The coastline is one clear line, the streets lie in a thin cluster, and the contours of the hills fill much of the rest of the sheet. In black and white, the balance between built ground and open land becomes the main subject.

Hills behind town
Steep wooded slopes rise close behind the coast. They leave little flat land and give the map a strong contrast between dense streets and empty high ground.
Valley lanes
Short roads follow the small valleys up from the shore, branching off the coastal routes like the teeth of a comb.

Bakit Sashiki
Isang mapang may kahulugan
For people with family roots in this corner of Kumamoto, or with memories of the coast, Sashiki is a very personal place to put on a wall. The map shows the sea, the hills and the few streets between them without adding anything.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, such as a family name or a year, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
