Highway spine
The town grows along its main road, with a denser market area near the centre. The road gives the map a clear line through the middle.

Ang mapa
Sitārganj Map Poster & Print
Sitārganj lies in the Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, on the flat, fertile Terai plain at the foot of the Kumaon hills. On a map the town grows along its main road. A market centre with denser streets sits near the middle, and residential areas and fields spread out on either side. Canals and streams cross the surrounding farmland from the hills toward the plains.
The Terai was once largely forest and marsh, and much of it was cleared and settled for farming in the twentieth century. Today it is one of Uttarakhand's agricultural and industrial areas. Sitārganj reflects both roles, with market streets, farmland and an industrial area nearby.
A Sitārganj map poster shows a plains town at the edge of the mountains. The streets are compact and practical, and the open land around them is marked by field boundaries and water channels. At wider scales the rising ground to the north begins to change the pattern.

Terai farmland
Flat, fertile fields surround the town, divided into regular plots. Their even texture fills much of the frame beyond the streets.
Canals and streams
Water channels and streams run across the plain from the hills. Their lines cut through the fields and add movement to the map.
