Temple quarter
The walled Mallikarjuna temple complex sits at the centre of town. Streets and pilgrim facilities cluster around it, forming the densest part of the map.

Srīsailain Map Poster & Print
Srīsailain, better known as Srisailam, sits on a plateau in the Nallamala Hills of Andhra Pradesh, above the gorge of the Krishna River. The town is compact and shaped by its purpose. Streets and lodging areas gather around the temple complex at its centre, while roads leave through forested hills. To the north the land drops sharply to the river, which winds through a deep, steep-sided valley.
The Mallikarjuna Swamy temple here is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Shiva. It also houses the shrine of Bhramaramba, counted among the Shakti Peethas, which makes Srisailam one of the major pilgrimage centres of South India. Nearby, the Srisailam Dam holds back the Krishna to form a long reservoir, and the surrounding forest is part of a large tiger reserve.
A Srīsailain map poster shows a small, concentrated street pattern within a large expanse of hills and water. The temple quarter reads as a dense focus, the approach roads curve through the forest, and the river adds a strong, irregular line along the gorge. It is a map of devotion and landscape together.

Krishna gorge
The river runs through a deep, winding valley below the town. On the map it forms a long, sinuous line that widens where the reservoir behind the dam begins.
Forest approaches
Roads reach Srisailam through the Nallamala forest, curving across hills and ravines. Long stretches without settlement show how isolated the town is in its wooded setting.

Bakit Srīsailain
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Srisailam is a place many families visit on pilgrimage, sometimes across generations. A map of the town can mark such a journey, a vow fulfilled or a family tradition, and it suits a prayer room or a living room, or makes a gift for elders.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with the date of a visit, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download HD files in six sizes for $9 or order a framed print.
