Town grid
The central streets form a fairly regular grid on the level basin floor. It becomes the most densely drawn part of the print.

Ang mapa
Tendō Map Poster & Print
Tendō lies in the Yamagata basin in northern Japan, just north of Yamagata city. On the map, the town forms a compact grid of streets in the middle of flat, fertile land, with mountains rising to the east and the Mogami River flowing to the west. Railway and main roads run north to south through the basin, linking Tendō to the rest of the prefecture.
Tendō is best known for its shogi pieces. The town produces the large majority of the wooden pieces used in Japan, and giant shogi games are played there with people standing in for the pieces. It also has a hot spring area, Tendō Onsen, and the surrounding land is known for cherries and La France pears.
A Tendō map poster shows a basin town surrounded by orchards and rice fields, with its grid in the centre and mountains at the edge. In black and white, the regular streets and the patchwork of farmland around them make a calm, balanced print, well suited to shogi players and anyone connected to Yamagata.

Orchards and fields
Rice paddies and fruit orchards surround the town in small plots. They give the edges of the map a fine, woven texture.
Rail through the basin
The railway and main roads run north–south through the town. They make long, straight lines that connect it with the rest of the basin.

Bakit Tendō
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Tendō means something special to shogi players, to people who have enjoyed its hot springs and to those who grew up among its orchards. A map of the town brings those associations together in a single, quiet image.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, in Japanese or English, with a family name or an important date. Choose from five styles, including Noir and Paper. The HD files cost $9, and printed posters on matte paper can be framed.
