Timbiquí River
The broad, winding river is the town's spine, with homes and landings lining its banks and the channel curving away inland and towards the sea.

Ang mapa
Timbiquí Map Poster & Print
Timbiquí sits near the Pacific coast of the Cauca Department, on the river that shares its name. There is no road link to the rest of Colombia, so boats are the usual way in and out, and the map reflects that: the town is strung along the riverbank, with the water as its main street and forest pressing in behind.
The river winds through low, wet country towards the ocean, splitting into channels and passing mangrove-lined shores. The communities of this coast are largely Afro-Colombian, and the region is known for its marimba music and traditional chants, which UNESCO recognises as part of the intangible cultural heritage of the southern Colombian Pacific.
A Timbiquí map poster is mostly about water. The bends of the river, the side channels and the narrow band of houses along the bank form a composition that looks nothing like a typical city map. In the Blueprint or Noir styles, the river becomes the strongest line on the sheet.

Riverside settlement
Rather than a grid, the town forms a thin strip along the water, a pattern shaped by boat travel instead of roads.
Mangrove coast
Towards the Pacific, the land breaks into channels and wetland, giving the lower part of the map a soft, fragmented edge.

Bakit Timbiquí
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Timbiquí is far from most travel routes, which makes a map of it all the more personal. It suits people with family on the Pacific coast, and anyone who has spent time on the river and wants to remember the shape of it.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or a year. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
