Trelleborg sits at the very bottom of Sweden, where the farmland of southern Skåne runs straight into the Baltic. From above, the shoreline is almost ruler-straight. The harbour takes up a large part of the waterfront: long breakwaters, ferry berths and rail tracks reach out to sea, and the town's streets spread inland behind them.
The centre is a tight, regular grid of low blocks, with larger residential areas and industrial zones fanning out towards the fields.
