The ring wall
The medieval wall wraps around the old town from shore to shore. It gives the poster a strong, almost diagrammatic outline that few towns can match.

Ang mapa
Visby Map Poster & Print
Visby is the main town of Gotland, Sweden's largest island, and sits on the west coast facing the Baltic. Its best-known feature is the medieval ring wall, roughly three and a half kilometres long and punctuated by towers, which still encloses most of the old town. On a map the wall draws a clear arc around the dense medieval streets and meets the shoreline at both ends.
Inside the wall, narrow streets climb from the harbour up a limestone cliff to the upper town. The ruins of many medieval churches stand among the houses, alongside the cathedral of St Mary. Outside the wall, newer districts spread in more regular blocks, so the boundary between old and new town is easy to read from above.
Visby was a major trading centre of the Hanseatic League and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Each summer it hosts Medieval Week and the Almedalen political week. A Visby map poster turns the town's clearly bounded shape into an elegant print, one of the most legible historic plans in northern Europe.

Church ruins
Roofless medieval churches are scattered through the old town. They appear as distinct footprints among the small plots of houses and gardens.
Harbour and cliff
The street pattern rises from the waterfront to the upper town. The Baltic shoreline forms the western edge of the composition.

Bakit Visby
Isang mapang may kahulugan
Visby is a place people return to every summer, and a map of it holds those seasons: ferry arrivals, evenings inside the wall, a week in Almedalen. It also suits anyone who admires medieval town plans for their own sake.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the year of a first visit or a wedding. Blueprint suits the wall's precise outline, and Paper brings out the old town's texture. Digital files cost $9 and come in six sizes.
