Main road axes
A few long, straight roads form the backbone of the town. On the poster they cross clearly, giving the composition a strong and legible structure.

Ang mapa
Yigou Map Poster & Print
Yigou lies in northern Henan, on the plain where the land begins to rise toward the Taihang Mountains to the west. From above, the town is organised along a few straight main roads, with blocks filling in between them and farmland reaching out to the edges. The terrain is gentle, and the pattern is orderly and clear.
This part of Henan belongs to the old heartland of northern China, a landscape farmed for thousands of years. On the map that history shows less in monuments than in the density of villages and the network of roads connecting them. The nearby city of Hebi is one of the larger centres of the area.
A Yigou map poster shows an everyday place with a clean structure. Straight streets, an evenly spaced grid and the surrounding field pattern produce a composition that feels balanced and calm. For people from the town or the surrounding villages, it is a simple and exact way to keep home close.

Even blocks
The streets between the main roads create a fairly regular pattern of blocks. At print scale the rhythm is steady and easy on the eye.
Plain and foothills
Farmland spreads around the town, and the higher ground to the west hints at the Taihang range. The open surroundings frame the town neatly.
