The Dujayl canal
The historic canal fed by the Tigris gives the town its name and still shapes the land around it, with smaller channels branching off toward the surrounding fields.

Ad Dujayl Map Poster & Print
Ad Dujayl sits on the broad plain of Salah ad Din, north of Baghdad, where the land is almost perfectly flat. On a map the town is a compact cluster of streets surrounded by long, narrow farm plots. The pattern of those plots is set by water, and the lines of fields and channels run far beyond the edge of the built-up area.
The name comes from the Dujayl canal, a watercourse drawn off the Tigris long ago to irrigate this part of Mesopotamia. That link between town and canal shows clearly from above: roads, ditches and orchard rows follow the water's direction. In black and white, the irrigation network reads almost like a second street plan laid over the plain.
A Ad Dujayl map poster keeps the town at the centre and lets the farmland spread out to the edges of the frame. With no hills or coastline to break the pattern, the drawing depends on fine linework: short residential lanes in the middle, straighter rural roads leading out, and the thin geometry of cultivated land between them.

Irrigated field strips
Long, narrow plots line up along the water, making a fine striped texture that fills much of the map beyond the town's residential streets.
Compact town core
The built-up centre is small and dense, a tight knot of short streets that stands out clearly against the open agricultural plain around it.
