Bayındır lies inland from İzmir in the valley of the Küçük Menderes, one of the fertile river basins of western Turkey. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets at the edge of the valley floor, with hills rising to the north and farmland spreading across the plain. Regional roads toward İzmir, Tire and Ödemiş cross the surrounding countryside.
The district is known across Turkey for ornamental plants: nurseries and greenhouses around the town supply flowers and saplings to much of the country, and flower growing is central to local identity. Olive groves, orchards and fields of the Aegean countryside fill the surrounding land, giving the map a fine, patterned texture beyond the built-up area.
