Rolling hills
Rounded hills cover the area, and the roads and fields that curve around them give the map a soft, flowing texture.

Da’an Map Poster & Print
Da’an lies in the western part of Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the Sichuan Basin. The ground here is rarely flat. Low, rounded hills follow one another, and the land between them has been shaped over generations into terraced fields and small ponds. On a map, this creates a dense, detailed pattern.
The built-up area follows the valleys and main roads, not a regular grid. Streets bend to follow the terrain, and clusters of buildings sit wherever there is enough flat land. Around them, smaller roads wind up through the hills to farms and villages.
This is the everyday landscape of rural and peri-urban Chongqing, far from the dense riverside towers of the city centre. A Da’an map poster shows how a settlement fits into a hilly landscape, with its streets tracing the shape of the ground.

Terraced land
Farmland is arranged in terraces and small plots on the slopes, forming fine, layered patterns between the settlements.
Valley streets
The main streets follow the valley floors, where the land is flattest, so the built-up area takes on a long, winding shape.
