Kufa Map Poster & Print
Kufa stands on the west bank of the Euphrates, a few kilometres from Najaf, and the two cities have grown so close that on a map they read as a single urban area. Kufa occupies the river side of that pairing: its streets run down toward the water, bridges cross to the east bank, and groves and fields line the river beyond the built-up edge.
The city was founded in the seventh century as a garrison town in the early Islamic period and later served as the capital of the caliph Ali. The Great Mosque of Kufa, a large walled rectangle near the centre, is among the oldest mosques in the world, and the angular Kufic script takes its name from the city.
That long history sits within a modern street plan of avenues and dense neighbourhoods, with the mosque compound and the river as fixed points. A Kufa map poster frames the city's connection to both the Euphrates and Najaf, a composition in which water, sacred architecture and ordinary streets share the same quiet lines.

Road to Najaf
Main avenues run toward Najaf, drawing the two cities together into one continuous urban shape that fills the frame on the side away from the river.
