Werre valley
The river Werre crosses town in a series of soft bends, a natural line that contrasts with the railway and main roads cutting straight across it.

Lage Map Poster & Print
Lage lies in the Lippe district of North Rhine-Westphalia, between Bielefeld and Detmold. The small river Werre passes through town, and the historic core forms a tight knot of streets around the church. From there the town spreads into residential districts and outlying villages that were merged into Lage over time, scattered across gently rolling farmland toward the Teutoburg Forest.
Lage is closely associated with the Lippe brickmakers, seasonal workers who for generations left the region each spring to make bricks across northern Europe. That history is told at the LWL industrial museum in a former brickworks on the edge of town. Railway lines also meet here, and their tracks cut clean lines through the map.
The Lage map poster balances a small historic centre with the broad, open pattern of the surrounding districts. The winding Werre, the rail corridors and the clusters of villages give it more structure than the town's size suggests, and it looks especially good in the Paper and Sand styles.

Historic core
Around the church, narrow streets form a compact cluster. It is the densest area of the map and a clear focal point among the lower-density neighbourhoods.
Rail corridors
Several railway lines meet in Lage. Their long, straight tracks cross the map and link the town to Bielefeld, Detmold and the rest of Lippe.
