Malanday Map Poster
Malanday lies in San Mateo, Rizal, on the eastern edge of the Manila metropolitan area. Its streets fill the floor of the Marikina River valley, and the map shows how densely the land is used: short lanes, narrow alleys and compact subdivisions pressed together, with only a few wider roads carrying traffic through toward the city and the towns further north.
The river is the defining line. It runs along the valley in broad curves, and the neighbourhood's streets tend to stop at its banks or bend to follow it. To the east the ground begins to rise toward the Sierra Madre foothills, and the street pattern loosens as it climbs. That shift from dense lowland to open slope gives a Malanday map poster a clear sense of direction.
Communities along this stretch of the Marikina River are closely tied to it, for daily life and for the flooding seasons that have shaped how and where people build. The result on paper is a detailed, irregular fabric, organic rather than planned, that records a neighbourhood grown lane by lane over decades.

Compact subdivisions
Small housing blocks and narrow access lanes fill the flat ground, producing a fine, closely woven texture that stays legible even at larger print sizes.
Rising eastern edge
Toward the foothills the streets spread apart and follow the slope, a quiet shift in density that gives the composition depth and orientation.

Zašto Malanday
Karta koja nešto znači
A map of Malanday is a portrait of a neighbourhood people know at street level: the way to school, the market, the river bank. It works as a personal piece for a family home or as a gift for someone who has moved abroad and wants a piece of home on the wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a barangay name and a family date, and pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, and the $9 download includes print-ready PDFs.
