The Niger nearby
The river runs close to town, and its channel, sandbanks and seasonal floodplain form the widest and most recognisable shape in the frame, giving the whole poster a strong natural axis.

Méhana Map Poster & Print
Méhana lies in the Tillabéri Region of western Niger, close to the Niger River as it flows south toward the capital. From above, the town is a compact cluster of lanes and walled compounds. At its edges the buildings give way to fields and open Sahelian ground. The river and its seasonal floodplain make the strongest line on the page, a broad natural curve that anchors everything around it.
The streets here don't follow a planned grid. Paths bend around courtyards and meet in small open spaces before fanning out toward the farmland, so the map looks almost hand-drawn even with precise linework. Tracks leading away from town thin into faint strokes. They show how much of the surrounding land is used for herding and cultivation rather than building, and how lightly the town sits on it.
A Méhana map poster keeps that relationship simple: dense marks at the centre, sparse ones at the edges and the river holding the composition together. In black and white the contrast between built ground and empty land becomes the subject. It suits someone with family ties to the region, or anyone drawn to the quiet geometry of settlements along the middle Niger.

Compound streets
Lanes curve between walled family compounds instead of following a grid, so the centre shows up as an irregular mesh of short segments, bends and small open squares.
Open Sahel edges
Past the last houses, tracks thin out across fields and dry grassland. This leaves generous white space around the settlement and makes its outline clear at a glance.
