Old Harbour Map Poster & Print
Old Harbour lies in the parish of Saint Catherine, on Jamaica's south coast west of Spanish Town. The town itself sits a little inland, built around a central square, while the fishing community of Old Harbour Bay sits on the shore to the south. On a map the two are linked by a road running down to the water.
The bay is part of Portland Bight, a wide stretch of coast with mangroves, shallow water and small cays, including the Goat Islands offshore. The shoreline here is uneven and soft, with inlets and mangrove edges instead of a straight beach.
In the town square stands an old cast-iron clock tower, a familiar local landmark. Main roads toward Kingston and the west pass nearby, and farmland and new housing surround the centre. An Old Harbour map poster shows the relationship between the town, its bay and the sheltered waters that gave it its name.
