Penticton Map Poster & Print
Penticton lies in the southern Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, on the neck of land between Okanagan Lake to the north and Skaha Lake to the south. Few cities have a clearer outline from above. Water frames the city at both ends, and dry, steep hills rise on either side of the valley.
The two lakes are connected by the Okanagan River Channel, a straightened waterway where floating down on inner tubes is a well-loved summer tradition. On the Okanagan Lake shore, the restored sternwheeler SS Sicamous is beached as a museum. It recalls the time when lake steamers were the main link through the valley.
A Penticton map poster shows a city shaped entirely by its setting. Grid streets fill the valley floor between the beaches, the channel runs as a straight line between two broad shapes of water, and roads climb into the benchlands toward vineyards and orchards. It is one of the most distinctive small-city maps in Canada.

River channel
The straight Okanagan River Channel links the two lakes. Its clean diagonal cuts across the lower part of the city.
Valley-floor grid
Regular streets fill the flat ground between the lakeshores. They contrast with the curving roads that climb the surrounding hills.
