Santa Rosa Beach is an unincorporated community in Walton County, on the Florida Panhandle. It stretches along the Gulf coast, with Choctawhatchee Bay to the north. Seen from above, it is a long, narrow band of land between two bodies of water, with scattered settlements rather than a single town centre.

These lakes sit just behind the beach and occasionally open to the Gulf through narrow outflows.
