Several roads meet in the town, and their crossing forms the centre of the map, the point from which the rest of the settlement grew.

Shendi Map Poster & Print
This Shendi is a town in the highlands of western Ethiopia, not to be confused with the better-known Shendi on the Nile in Sudan. On a map it appears as a compact settlement where several roads meet, with an irregular pattern of streets and compounds around the centre and farmland spreading out over the rolling ground beyond.
The Ethiopian highlands are shaped by elevation, seasonal rains and small streams that cut shallow valleys through the fields, and towns like Shendi serve as market and service centres for the villages around them. The map shows that role clearly: the roads leading into town carry the structure, and the built-up area gathers where they cross.
A Shendi map poster turns a place that is rarely mapped in detail into a clear, calm image. The meeting of roads, the loose grain of the streets and the open land around them make a composition that is simple, balanced and unmistakably its own.

Loose street grain
Streets around the centre follow an irregular pattern shaped by plots and terrain rather than a planned grid.
Highland farmland
Around the town, open agricultural land fills the frame and gives the urban core a clear, bounded outline.
