Rice field lattice
Irrigation channels and paths divide the paddies into long rectangles. This precise, repeating grid covers much of the map and frames the town on every side.

Sueca Map Poster & Print
Sueca lies in the Ribera Baixa south of Valencia, on the flat alluvial plain between the Júcar river and the sea. From above, the town forms a dense, rounded core surrounded on almost every side by rice fields, whose straight irrigation channels and field boundaries create a strikingly regular pattern. To the north the paddies merge with the wetlands around the Albufera lagoon.
Rice is central to Sueca's identity. The town hosts a long-running international paella competition every year, and much of the municipality is given over to paddies that flood and dry with the seasons. Along the coast, a separate line of beach settlements runs parallel to the shore, divided from the town by the open fields.
A Sueca map poster shows an unusual balance between a compact town and the huge agricultural geometry around it. The narrow streets of the centre appear as a concentrated knot, while the fields spread out as a fine lattice of channels and tracks. In black and white, the effect is almost architectural.

Compact town centre
The old centre is a tight cluster of streets and small squares. This dense patch of detail stands out sharply against the open fields that surround it.
Coastal strip
A narrow line of beach settlements follows the Mediterranean shore to the east. The plain separates it from the town, and it gives the composition a clean outer edge.
