Tremedal is a municipality in southwestern Bahia, in the interior far from the Atlantic coast, in a region of semi-arid uplands. The town itself is small. On a map, its core is a modest cluster of streets inside a much larger rural area, where country roads spread out across the open land toward farms and villages.
The layout is simple: a handful of main streets, with blocks forming a loose grid that grows less regular toward the edges. Small streams cross the land around the town, many of them seasonal in this dry climate, and farms are scattered across it.
