Tunasan lies where the southern edge of Metro Manila runs into Laguna province and the Calabarzon region. On a map it is almost entirely built up: short streets, subdivision loops and cul-de-sacs fill the space between the main roads, and very little open ground remains. The pattern is typical of the metropolitan fringe, where planned estates and older, more informal lanes sit directly side by side.
To the east the streets stop at the shoreline of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the Philippines, which appears on a poster as a broad blank field against the fine street texture. Inland, the grain of the neighbourhood follows the long roads that carry commuters between Manila and the growing towns of Laguna, so nearly every lane eventually feeds a north–south artery.
